As a practical note, if you should get into an automobile accident caused by another, call and wait for the police.   Do not move your vehicles until the police arrive if at all possible.  Should you need to move your vehicle, take photographs of the scene and the vehicles from every angle.  Be sure to include the license plate(s) of the other vehicles involved as well as the person driving the vehicle(s) in case anyone flees the scene.   Avoid apologizing for anything and don’t admit to anything to anyone at the scene.   Collect your thoughts and make every attempt to express yourself clearly to the responding officer(s).  Avoid being rude to the officers no matter how they react.

Seek immediate medical attention at the scene if necessary.  Many times injured persons are wrapped-up in the excitement of the moment and with the adrenaline rush they do not recognize any pain at the scene.  Later that evening or the following days they begin to experience pain and should seek immediate medical attention either at the emergency room, primary care physician or by contacting our office to arrange treatment with a doctor.
